The Nothing Phone 2 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC.
Nothing Phone 2 is scheduled to go worldwide in July. It will debut as the replacement for the July 2022-released Nothing Phone 1. Car Pei, the former co-founder of OnePlus and CEO of Nothing, has already verified a few important details about the device. The next smartphone will be supported by a 4,700mAh battery and run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. According to rumours, the Phone 2 will have a similar design to the original. The phone’s display size and a few other characteristics have now also been disclosed by the business.
Nothing revealed that the display of the Nothing Phone 2 will be 0.15 inches larger than that of the Nothing Phone 1 in a Twitter conversation. The company’s initial smartphone model has a 6.55-inch full-HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels) screen. The Phone 2 will thus have a 6.7-inch screen.
Pei previously stated that the Nothing Phone 2 will have a 4,700mAh battery, which is 200mAh more than the 4,500mAh battery of the Phone 1. Pei also confirmed the phone will ship in July. According to a statement released by the firm today, these modifications would “boost overall performance” of the future phone while preserving a carbon footprint of 53.45 kilogrammes, more than 5 kilogrammes less than the Phone 1.
The Nothing Phone 2 is said to feature three times as many recycled or bio-based parts than the Phone 1 and is sold in a plastic-free package. The business claimed in a series of tweets that the next model uses 100% recycled tin on 9 circuit boards, 100% recycled copper foil on the main circuit board, over 90% recycled steel on all 28 steel stamping parts, and 80% of plastic parts are obtained sustainably.
Nothing asserts that the Nothing Phone 2’s final assembly facilities are also powered entirely by renewable energy, in addition to the handset’s mid-frame being constructed of 100% recycled aluminium produced with 100% renewable energy.
